Miami Swim Fashion Week Cruise 2010: L*Space by Monica Wise
L*Space by Monica Wise, this year’s “Mercedes-Benz Presents” designer, debuted her collection for the first time during MBFW Swim. The Southern California–based collection is best known for its sexy silhouettes and flattering fits. Wise said her collaboration with OmniPeace this year sparked the interest of Mercedes-Benz. “The purpose this year was a humanitarian purpose, so that was important to them,” Wise explained. According to Wise, much of the inspiration for the collection this year came from Africa and it had an organic look due to the collaboration with OmniPeace. Key styles included sexy bikinis with chain details, fringed bandeau tops, abbreviated bottoms and daring low-cut maillots. Colors were electric in bright acid shades and prints were eye popping with bold color combinations. This season, Wise added more resort wear to the collection including tunics, jumpsuits and strapless dresses. —N. Jayne Seward
