Miami Swim Fashion Week Cruise 2010: Mara Hoffman
Mara Hoffman drew inspiration from a spiritual exploration to create her Resort 2010 collection. The New York–based designer delivered a collection of unique prints and innovative shapes for her July 18 debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim.Hoffman launched her swim collection last year after recognizing the need for interesting prints in the swim market. The designer channeled her artistic talents into creating a variety of exquisite ethnic, psychedelic and galaxy inspired prints. The palette in black, red, neon pink, purple, silver and blue draws inspiration from both the desert and the galaxy.Standout looks included a very sexy strappy one-piece, a fringed headdress maillot and a red scarab silk-chiffon dashiki. Hoffman also created beaded body jewelry for the show which added a tribal feel to the look. —N. Jayne Seward
