GlobalTex Sets 2010 Dates, Adds International Exhibitors
GlobalTex, a relatively new textile show in Los Angeles, has set its show dates for 2010.
Next year, show organizer Market Center Management Co., based in Dallas, will move the three-day event up a few weeks. The new dates are April 13–15 and Sept. 21–23.
This year, the inaugural show was held April 28–30 at the downtown Los Angeles Convention Center. The next GlobalTex show is set for Oct. 13–15, also at the Los Angeles Convention Center. About 100 European textile exhibitors are expected at the October event. Some of the European resources already committed include Italian exhibitors Achille Pinto, Alfa-Fi, Brixiashy;trade, Comoseta, Efilan, Emmeci s.p.a., Emmetex, Flem Spa, Stylwool and Texapel.
For its first show, GlobalTex secured the endorsement of the Textile Association of Los Angeles and included its French Pavilion, organized by Espace Textile, and a trend forum curated by Mudpie. MCMC, GlobalTex’s parent company, owns the Dallas Market Center and manages the ShanghaiMart in China.
GlobalTex is the second new textile trade show for Los Angeles. Material World and Technology Solutions, organized by Atlanta-based Urban Expositions, is co-locating its first West Coast textile show with the longstanding Los Angeles International Textile Show, produced by the California Market Center. The first joint venture will be held Sept. 30–Oct. 2 at the CMC. —Deborah Belgum
