Joe's Jeans Signs Belt License
Vernon, Calif.–based jeans maker Joe’s Jeans announced a new licensing agreement with Vogue Trimmings to manufacture and distribute Joe’s-branded belts for men, women and children. The new line of belts will debut with the Holiday 2009 season. Buyers will get their first glimpse of the jeans-friendly belts in September at the Project Global Trade Show in Las Vegas and Coterie in New York. The belts are expected to sell in major department stores, specialty stores and the publicly traded company’s own retail outlets.
Los Angeles–based Vogue Trimmings produces belts and belt buckles as a licensee and as a private-label manufacturer for retailers such as Macy’s and Nordstrom.
“We are excited to have Vogue Trimmings as a partner to launch our latest accessory product line. Part of our commitment for 2009 has been to find licensees to extend the Joe’s product offerings, and we believe we have found an excellent partner in Vogue Trimmings,” Marc Crossman, Joe’s president and chief executive, said in a statement.
Joe’s sells its products—which range from premium denim to woven shirts, handbags, T-shirts, knits, and outerwear for men, women and children—in more than approximately 1,200 stores worldwide. The denim maker’s stock dropped more than 5 percent on the news to 66 cents per share.—Erin Barajas
