Vix Signs Licensing Deal With Manhattan Beachwear
Cypress, Calif.–based Manhattan Beachwear has signed a licensing agreement with Vix Swimwear to produce two of the brand’s labels: Hermanny by Vix and Sofia by Vix. The multiyear license tasks Manhattan Beachwear to manufacture and distribute the two labels. Hermanny debuted in 2006 with an American fit targeted at women ages 30 to 50. Sofia, which launched in 2005, targets 16- to 25-year-olds who want Brazilian styling and a contemporary American fit. Paula Hermanny, the San Diego–based owner and founder of Vix, will remain the designer for both brands.
“I am very excited about this joint venture and feel that together we will be able to meet the needs of both markets. For me, this is a wonderful opportunity to focus on what I love to do: design,” Hermanny said in a statement.
Manhattan Beachwear licenses and manufactures women’s and juniors swimwear for brands such as Kenneth Cole, Kenneth Cole Reaction Swim, Hobie, Split, Hot Kiss, 24th & Ocean and Maxine.—Erin Barajas
