Getting a Leg Up on Denim

We’ve seen the comeback of acid wash, shredded denim and the boyfriend jean, and now denim is getting the legging treatment. The look has been hot on the street, and denim brands are expanding their offerings with new innovative takes on the trend. Designers are opting to combine legging fits and styles with denim details and fabrics for an ultra-sexy skinny fit. Others are branching out to include leggings in a variety of fabrics in their collections.
Rock Republic debuted the trend for Spring with their skin-tight fits and innovative treatments on the runway during New York Fashion Week. And a plethora of brands are creating a variety of styles for Fall and Holiday. Rock Republic is continuing the look updated with metallic treatments, and JOE’s jeans has styles with side-zip details and glitter effects.
Goldsign is offering colorful stretch-denim leggings, super-stretch acid-wash denim and a thigh-high denim legging that is incredibly chic. Siwy has a range of styles that include everything from sequins to hybrid denim looks with scuba-like styling. And looking forward to Spring, Denim of Virtue is developing a four-way stretch denim "X-Fit" legging. Here are a few styles that capture the look.
