Just Say Ugg
Sandals, shoes and sheepskin boots may not be enough for Deckers Outdoor Corp., the company just outside Santa Barbara that makes those Ugg boots and Teva sandals. Deckers announced it was acquiring Ahnu Footwear, a small company in Alameda whose outdoor-style shoes are sold at retailers such as R.E.I. “Along with our already well-established outdoor brand, Teva, the addition of Ahnu will present Deckers with the opportunity to gain additional market share within the outdoor market,” said Angel Martinez, Deckers’ chairman and chief executive. Terms of the deal, expected to close before the end of the first quarter, were not disclosed.
