CFA President to Address Copyright Issues and Apparel Careers
California Fashion Association President Ilse Metchek will deliver the keynote speech at the Copyright Office Conference on Feb. 18 in Los Angeles and Feb. 20 in San Francisco.
Metchek will be discussing what would happen in the apparel industry if a proposed copyright law went into effect. She will preshy;sent the opposing viewpoint of the proposed Design Piracy Prohibition Act, which is being considered by Congress.
The Copyright Office Conference is sponsored by the Copyright Committee of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of California. Copyright and trademark lawyers will be attending as well as David Carson, general counsel of the Copyright Office in Washington, D.C.
The Feb. 18 event in Los Angeles starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Century City hotel. The Feb. 20 event in San Francisco also begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Westin St. Francis Hotel.
