Zweave Teams With TransWeave for PLM Integration
Zweave Inc. and TransWeave Inc. have joined forces, bringing Zweave’s PLM (product lifecycle management) into SAP’s ERP IS solution via TransWeave for a combined end-to-end system serving small- to mid-size apparel retailers and manufacturers.
TransWeave’s initial business model was to provide implementation of SAP’s ERP IS retail and wholesale distribution and manufacturing solution for TransWeave’s apparel retail and manufacturing clients, explained Mumtaz Kutty, TransWeave’s chief executive officer. “Our clients quickly told us that they wanted more. They wanted an end-to-end solution, one that managed seasonality, trends and everything from concept to design [PLM], as well as planning and execution. We chose Zweave’s PLM because, more than any other option in the market, it is easy to use [and] easy to implement, and it is designed specifically for the apparel industry.”
Zweave is one of the few companies that offers PLM on a software-as-a-service basis. TransWeave offers a SAP product at a lower cost and quicker implementation time.
“By partnering with TransWeave, we have found an exciting and beneficial way to serve the midsize manufacturer and retailer of apparel. These organizations need the seamless interaction of ERP and PLM, a total solution for integrating information technology across the entire product lifecycle at the right cost and with minimal disruption to the business,” said Laura McCann, Zweave’s chief executive officer.
Zweave’s PLM consists of 16 modular “studios” that work together while allowing for segmentation of work by task and job function. The system includes functionality in trends, merchandising, color, fabric, material, fit, design, graphics, packaging, samples, costing, vendor management, production, marketing materials and showroom.
With the combined systems, the data collected in Zweave can flow back and forth into SAP, providing information that the ERP system relies on for advanced sourcing, costing, supply-chain management and financial planning. For more information, visit www.zweave.com. —Robert McAllister
