L.A. Market's June Dates Moved
Organizers of Los Angeles Fashion Market have adjusted June’s show dates to take place about two weeks later than originally planned because of a conflict with the Memorial Day holiday and shows in Dallas.
Ethan Eller, general manager of The New Mart in Los Angeles, said show dates at The New Mart, California Market Center, Cooper Design Space and the Gerry Building will take place June 12–16. They originally were planned for May 29–June 2.
The Designers and Agents show, which takes place in The New Mart, has also been changed to June 12–14.
Eller said the decision came during a recent meeting between managers of The Intersection, which includes the showroom centers located in and around the intersection of Ninth and Los Angeles streets.
“We decided in the best interest of the buyers and showroom representatives to move the dates so they would not be so close to Memorial Day [May 25],” Eller said. The original dates were also very close to the June 4–7 shows in Dallas. Eller said Intersection board members still need to work out additional scheduling conflicts with Dallas.
“Everybody’s noted the changes on their Web sites, and we amended the calendars so everyone will be informed of the changes,” he said.
Dates for the Focus, Transit and Brighte Companies shows, which take place at the CMC during the first days of the market, will also change. The Brighte Companies show takes place June 12–15, and Focus and Transit take place June 13–15. —Robert McAllister
