BOXEight Gets on Its SoapBOX
The organizers behind the indie BOXEight Fashion Week have launched an online video series featuring both up-and-coming and well-known musicians and bands at the soapBOX Live.
“We wanted to use our online presence to provide an intimate venue for new and established artists,” said BOXEight Operations Director Chad Wilson. “The soapBOX is for the artists that need a direction to get their music out.”
BOXEight partnered with Web-cast provider Stickam to stream the footage, and the online shows are produced at the BOXEight headquarters in Los Angeles, according to Wilson. Wilson also said that they are in talks to take the soapBOX to other venues and feature different types of artists.
The weekly showcase will stream musical performances as well as music videos and behind-the-scene footage. The latest installment features Los Angeles–based band Shiny Toy Guns.
Past features include “American Idol” hopeful Brandon Rogers and rock band Taking Back Sunday, and an upcoming installment will feature RB group Sweet Rush.
