Beach Bums & Active Chiefs: No Bankruptcy, No Store Closings
Rumors are bouncing around the show floor at the Surf Expo trade show in Florida about the fate of specialty retailers Beach Bums and Active—but the chief executives at both of specialty chains denied the reports.
Beach Bums did close a store in San Diego, but company Principal Cliff Haddadin said no more closures are in the works.
Active President Shane Wallace said the company is reviewing its leases but said rumors that the chain planned to shutter 10 stores are false.
