Film Costumes Come to FIDM for 17th Exhibition
Some of the year’s best film costumes will be on display when the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising hosts its 17th annual “Art of Motion Picture Costume Design” exhibition at the FIDM Museum & Galleries in downtown Los Angeles.
The exhibition opens on Jan. 28 and will feature more than 125 costumes from more than 25 films from 2008, including Jacqueline West’s designs for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” Catherine Martin’s designs for “Australia” and Sandy Powell’s designs for “The Other Boleyn Girl.”
In addition, the exhibition will feature costumes from last year’s Academy Award winner for best costume design, “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” by Alexandra Byrne.
The FIDM Museum & Galleries is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The museum is located on the ground level of FIDM’s downtown Los Angeles campus at 919 S.
