Designer Koi Suwannagate Launches Online Shop
Los Angeles–based designer Koi Suwannagate, known for her hand-sculpted cashmere pieces and intricate detailing, has launched an online retail shop at her Web site.
The online shop was created as an outlet for the designer, according to Director of Operations Caitlin Wiman. The shop enables Suwannagate to share rare pieces that she creates specifically for the online store, said Wiman.
The online store opened at the end of December, and an outside firm was brought in for the initial logistics of the store’s launch. Work for the online store is now done in-house, according to Wiman.
The online shop currently carries one-of-a-kind finds, pieces from Suwannagate’s Resort ’09 collection and several from past seasons. Pieces for sale at the shop include a red “Cruz” cashmere cardigan with floral ruffled-detailing, retailing for $898 and a silk and cashmere “Therese” tunic with Swarovski crystal leaf accents, retailing for $460.
With the online shop, Wiman said she hopes to expand Suwannagate’s client base and allow more customers the ability to shop for Suwannagate online.
