Menswear Show Set for Third Run at LAX
Reps from dozens of upscale menswear labels will be showing their Fall 2009 collections at the West Coast Trend Show, set for Jan. 25–26 at the Embassy Suites LAX in Los Angeles.
The show is now in its third run and follows up the discontinued West Coast Exclusive show, which was acquired by producers of the MRket show in Las Vegas. The Los Angeles show will feature European- and American-made suits, shirts, denim, slacks, footwear and accessories from labels such as Robert Graham, Haupt of Germany, Alexander Julian, Jhane Barnes, Scott Barbour, Jose Luis and others.
Show hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 25 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 26. A wine-and-cheese party hosted by rep Heidi Kearns will take place after the show on Jan. 25 followed by a “Rock ’n’ Bowl” bowling party at the El Dorado Lanes in Los Angeles’ Westchester neighborhood.
Show producer and rep Ken Haruta said he expects a larger turnout than the previous show.
“As tough as it is at retail, I believe that we will get more traffic. Many of my own accounts are skipping traveling to New York to work with their vendors because they are trying to save on expenses,” Haruta said.
