Iconix Heads to Latin America

New York–based Iconix Brand Group—owners of the Mossimo, Rampage, Joe Boxer, Candie’s, Bongo, Ocean Pacific and Badgely Mischka brands—formed a joint venture with New Brands Americas LLA to develop Iconix’s labels in Latin America. New Brands is a division of the Falic Group, a Florida company owned by Simon, Jerome and Leon Falic. The deal will bring Iconic brands to Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean through existing and new licensing agreements. According to an Iconix statement, New Brands paid $6 million “plus other commitments” for a 50 percent stake in the joint venture, as well as an “option to purchase rights to future brands acquired by Iconix.”
