L.A. Apparel Exec Signs With Canadian Company
Ron Perilman was recently appointed senior vice president for French Dressing Jeans and Boca Performance Athleisure for the United States and Europe.
Most recently, Perilman was executive vice president at Los Angeles–based Not Your Daughter’s Jeans, which last fall sold 50 percent of the company, known for its Tummy Tuck jeans, to New York private equity firm Falconhead Capital.
Before joining Not Your Daughter’s Jeans, Perilman ran his own apparel company, called City Girl Inc., which made misses apparel. He sold the label in 2006 to a Texas company.
At French Dressing, based in Montreal, Perilman will be working with an international team while based in Los Angeles. He will be responsible for marketing, creative direction and sales for both divisions.
French Dressing was founded in 1908 and for years had a successful business until a downturn forced it to file for bankruptcy protection in late 2007. It was purchased in June 2008 by a group of local apparel executives headed by apparel conglomerate Groupe Corwik Inc. The new FDJ is focusing on denim products. —Deborah Belgum
