Going Solo
Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. announced that starting at the beginning of 2010, luxury retailer Dickson Concepts will no longer be working with the company in Southeast Asia. Polo Ralph Lauren plans to take direct control of its wholesale and retail distribution in the region. Ralph Lauren, the company’s chairman and chief executive, said the demand for Polo Ralph Lauren goods is growing in that area. “We expect to build on the momentum by reinforcing our luxury-lifestyle positioning and elevating our distribution in the region,” Lauren said. Polo Ralph Lauren has made similar moves in Japan and Europe.
