Cutting Back
Triumph Apparel Corp. in New York, which sells women’s dance, yoga and athletic wear under the Danskin label, is laying off 226 workers and closing two plants at the end of February. The clothing maker will close its manufacturing and distribution centers in York County, Penn. The decision was fostered by Triumph’s inability to get credit from its lender, Wells Fargo. In addition, the weakening economy has shrunk orders.
