Recall on Harajuku Hoodies

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a voluntary recall of 1,200 Harajuku hooded sweatshirts made by Jerry Leigh of California Inc. because the hoodies feature a drawstring that could pose a strangulation hazard to children. The recall includes two styles, the “RSL Hoodie,” which features graphics with girls on scooters and the words “ready steady love,” and the “Lovers Leopard,” which has a leopard print in black and gray. No injuries have been reported concerning the hoodies, which were manufactured in China and sold at Nordstrom, Macy’s and other retailers between August 2008 and January 2009. Consumers are advised to remove the ties from the sweatshirts or return the garments to the retailer or to Jerry Leigh for a full refund.
