Promotions at Directives, Doneger Group
Janine Blain, Directives West merchandise manager and director of client relations, has been named vice president/general merchandise manager for the Los Angeles–based buying office.
Blain joined Directives West last year when the company merged with New York–based The Doneger Group. She joined The Doneger Group in 2005 with more than 20 years of experience in fashion and merchandising on the West Coast. In her new position, she will continue to work closely with Directives West President Sandy Richmond.
The Doneger Group also promoted Barbara McGraw, previously a market analyst for The Doneger Group, to merchandise manager, accessories and intimate apparel. McGraw—who has more than 25 years of experience in fashion retail and wholesale for companies such as May Department Stores, Frederick Atkins and Kellwood Co.—replaces Deborah Rudinsky, who has left the company.
And Doneger Group Fashion Director Roseanne Morrison will now also oversee the contemporary market for the company. Before joining The Doneger Group in 2006, Morrison worked for more than 20 years at The Tob#275; Report.
“Since joining the firm, Janine, Barbara and Roseanne have each developed strong working relationships with our retail clients and the wholesale community, demonstrating sound leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of the retail business,” said Abbey Doneger, president of The Doneger Group. “I am confident that in their expanded roles, they will continue to provide the appropriate business intelligence and analysis to help our clients navigate through this highly complex and challenging retail environment.” —Alison A.
