Rodarte's Dreamy Sample Sale
The ultimate fashionista's dream sale come true......
Today in L.A., Rodarte die-hards had the chance to pick up some pieces from the Fall collection just days before the much-hyped Target collab is set to debut. Of course our Apparel News editors were quick to make the short trek just up the street to The Reserve Lofts on Olympic to check out the goods. At the check-in we discovered we were not far behind Vogue's Lisa Love and designer Valerj Pobega. Definitely at the right place.Once inside, it didn't take long to scan the room. There were two racks of clothes, a stack of sweaters, lots of shoes and piles of boots that looked as if they were straight off the runway. In extreme coutorture we perused the racks of lady-like dresses and suitings in hopes of some bargain Rodarte. But this is no sale for budget shoppers. Admittedly, prices did seem reasonable at $100 for a T-shirt and $150 for the J'aime Rodarte sweatshirt recently offered at Colette. And the killer heels and thigh high boots made in collaboration with Nicholas Kirkwood were quite a bargain at $500. But I went back to dream state/coutorture mode when I spied a lacey, snake print dress that I know was a steal at $2,500. And then there was that chic gray knit cardigan - sample sale-priced at $1,500. I think I might forever be coveting that cardigan. Read on for a few highlights from afternoon 'Rodarte.'
