Avery Takes RFID Abroad
German retailer House of Gerry Weber will introduce RFID technology to aid in inventory management and loss prevention created by Framingham, Mass.–based label Avery Dennison. The RFID chip will be embedded in the care labels for more than 25 million garments, which will be carried in more than 150 Gerry Weber stores beginning next year. The RFID-embedded labels are washable and dry cleanable. And the RFID technology can track the garment from production to point of sale—even if the garment is washed or dry cleaned in the process.
