Gerber Technology Acquires Yunique
Gerber Technology—the Tolland, Conn.–based automated Computer Assisted Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Product Lifestyle Management (PLM) solutions giant—announced the acquisition of New York–based PLM solution provider Yunique Solutions. The acquisition is part of Gerber Technology’s plan to expand its investment in its software business and upgrade its PLM technology platform, said John Hancock, Gerber Technology’s president, in a statement. Financial details of the deal were not made public.
“As a result of our intensified focus on software, Yunique becomes part of the recently formed Gerber Technology Software Systems Group—created with the primary focus of helping customers deliver products to market in less time, with reduced cost, higher quality and improved visibility,” he said.
Yunique developed plmON, a Web browser-based PLM solution, and srmON, a supplier relationship management (SRM) solution, that “enable today’s fast-paced apparel, textiles, and accessories retailers, brands and manufacturers [to] speed more hellip; merchandise to market by improving collaboration across their entire supply chains,” the release stated. Yunique’s software solutions are based on Microsoft’s .NET computing platform, allowing users to use the Internet to optimize the software’s features and connectivity.
“With both native Mac and PC compatibility, our software applications fit the requirements of the diverse demands, locations and working styles of users in the fields of design, development, sourcing, planning, operations, manufacturing, production and retail,” said Daniel Pak and Darioush Nikpour, Yunique’s co-founders and principal owners, in a statement.—Erin Barajas
