That Bebe Smell

Visitors to Bebe stores will soon be greeted with the scent of the retail chain’s new signature scent, thanks to a partnership with Milwaukee-based Prolitec. The Midwestern company’s Air/Q Adjustable Room Air Freshener—dubbed as “ambient-scenting technology”—will pump a discrete amount of the new Bebe fragrance throughout the store. Bebe will use the system to “scent-specific in-store areas, such as those around the luxurious visual displays that introduce the new fragrance,” said Roger Bensinger, executive vice president of marketing and business development for Prolitec, whose ambient-scenting technology is used in hotels, resorts and spas, according to the company. Brisbane-based Bebe Stores Inc. launched the fragrance through a licensing deal with Inter Parfums Inc., the French fragrance maker known for its collaborations with Burshy;berry, Paul Smith, S.T. Dupont and Van Cleef & Arpels.
