Apparel Exec/Leading Man
Chad Kimball, president of L.A.–based apparel brand Obvious Clothing, has an unusual side gig even by La-la Land standards. He's not a DJ or a stylist or a racecar driver—he’s an actor in Broadway musicals.
Sing it, Chad!
Starting October 19, Kimball will reprise his role as Huey Calhoun in “Memphis,” an original Broaway musical at New York’s Shubert Theatre. The show, and Kimball, have already found success with two sold-out run engagements at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre.
Kimball, the musical's leading man, plays a white DJ in underground clubs who falls “in love with everything he shouldn't: rock and roll and an electrifying black singer,” according to a release. The show co-stars Montego Glover and features a new score by David Bryan, a founding member of Bon Jovi, and lyrics by Joe DiPietro of the show “I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.”
