Expose NY Partners With The Daily

Editors, stylists, buyers and bloggers can expect to find a heavy dose of fashion at The Daily Suites this season. Expose NY, produced by Los Angeles–based RPRT Communications, has partnered with The Daily for the upcoming edition of the event to be held Sept. 14 and 15 during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. The Daily Suites will take place from Sept. 14 to 16. Now in its third season, Expose NY has become a dynamic platform to showcase emerging and established brands from around the globe. By partnering with The Daily, IMG’s premiere publication, will offer brands the outreach to VIP guests attending New York Fashion Week. It’s the perfect opportunity to reach industry players in a relaxed, low-key environment and an alternative to doing a runway presentation. And marketing, thoughchallenging in this economy, is key to staying relevant in the marketplace, according to Expose NY founder and curator Matt Meyerson. “This isn’t a gifting suite, it’s not a celebrity event. This is really about doing business and having brands promote and market themselves and meet the people face to face who make those decisions,” he explained.
The event will be held at the luxe penthouse suites at the AKA Times Square just a few blocks from the tents at Bryant Park. The two forces will be sharing adjacent spaces which are conjoined by a 1200-square-foot deck offering views overlooking the city. Over the past four years, The Daily Suites has become a refuge for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week attendees by offering guests a relaxed atmosphere to interact with new brands and enjoy beauty services, cocktails, snacks and music—a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the tents.
This season they will also have the opportunity to view eight premium to luxury women’s collections across the categories of shoes, swimwear, handbags, jewelry, ready-to-wear and couture. Meyerson curates the show to offer a range of dynamic and diverse designers that appeal to the wide variety of guests that attend the event. The past two editions of Expose NY have included designers such as Jerome C. Rousseau, Oliver Goldsmith, Serpico, House of Bastion, I.C. Berlin, Yeojin Bae, Ana Pires, Le Doux Swimwear, Krelwear and gr.dano. The lineup for the Spring ’10 showcase will include emerging designers, overseas collections and Los Angeles-based brands.
Attendees will have opportunity to meet the designers and view their collections during the open house hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. In addition, Expose NY’s title sponsor MyFDB.com, a new comprehensive Web fashion database, will supply laptops to guests and explain how to navigate the site to find influential contacts in the world of fashion. What’s in store for the future? “We’ve agreed to do this together [this season] to see what the synergy is and hopefully we’ll move into the next seasons and into different markets,” said Meyerson.
