So American (Apparel)
Los Angeles–based T-shirt manufacturer and retailer American Apparel opened a 2,800-square-foot store in the Yorkdale Shopping Center in Toronto. More than 30 employees were hired to staff the store, which features 50-foot ceilings, oversize graphics of an American Apparel model and mannequins suspended by cables from the ceiling. The store will carry American Apparel basic T-shirts, sweatshirts and underwear, as well as newer product offerings, including men’s button-down dress shirts, floral prints and jackets. American Apparel now has more than 260 stores in 20 countries.
