Royal Plush Expands With Activewear Line, Denim
Royal Plush, the women’s casualwear brand, is expanding beyond the embellished sweats it is known for to include a true activewear collection and denim. In November, the Torrance, Calif.–based manufacturer began shipping one style of denim and a collection of workout wear that targets its existing women’s customer.
In June, the workout wear collection, which debuted with nine silhouettes—including tanks with built-in bras, jackets, and bootleg and cropped yoga pants—will expand to include a tennis skirt and other court-friendly pieces. Made of cotton and spandex-blend fabrics that have a sueded hand, Royal Plush’s gym gear is super-soft, said Michelle Waller, the brand’s designer and co-owner. Wholesale prices range from $20 to $48 for the collection, which, like the brand’s other offerings, includes fleur de lis embellishments.
The denim, which launched with a single boyfriend silhouette in four washes, will continue with that single style offered in a variety of new fabrications, including colored denim. The jean wholesales for $96. —Erin Barajas
