CMC to Host L.A. Kids Market
Joining a growing lineup of markets at the California Market Center is the Los Angeles Kids Market, set to run Aug. 7–11 during the Los Angeles Fashion Market.
Billed as a “show within a show,” L.A. Kids Market will be held on the sixth floor of the CMC, which houses Kids on 6, the building’s childrenswear and maternity exhibitors.
The L.A. Kids Market will highlight the CMC’s childrenswear and maternity resources and will feature retailer perks and amenities.
“The launch of the L.A. Kids Market will bring increased awareness to Kids on 6 and the amount of kids and maternity resources at the CMC,” said Joanne Lee, senior vice president of the CMC. “Buyers have a one-stop-shop opportunity for the best kids’ and maternity products available that they can’t find anywhere else but Kids on 6 at the CMC.”
Other events scheduled at the CMC during market include apparel and accessories show Focus, held on the 13th floor; the L.A. Shoe Show, also on the 13th floor; and ENK’s Brighte Companies, held in the Fashion Theater.
The CMC is also offering a free seminar presented by Focal Technology Solutions titled “Creating an Effective E-Commerce Web Site for Increased Sales and Profitability.” The seminar is being held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 in The Annex, located in the CMC lobby next to registration.
In addition, retailers are invited to the Buyers Lounge on the CMC’s second floor for complimentary breakfast and coffee each morning.
The CMC is one of several showroom buildings in the Los Angeles Fashion District. Buyers will also find resources in The New Mart, the Cooper Design Space, the Gerry Building, the Lady Liberty Building and the 824 Building. The Primrose Building also recently opened, with tenant Free People already moved in and T-shirt resource Authentic Apparel scheduled to open a showroom this fall.—Alison A. Nieder
