Denim Mavens to Discuss Fashion and Business at USC
On April 27, the University of Southern California will host “Captains of the Fashion Industry,” a public lecture featuring two of premium denim’s founding fathers—Adriano Goldschmied of Goldsign and Jerome Dahan of Citizens of Humanity. Mark Werts, the founder and chief executive of the American Rag CIE chain of specialty stores and a USC alumnus, will act as the event’s sponsor.
The lecture grew out of the USC Board of Councilors’ desire to promote an interchange of ideas between the academic and business communities. Denim, which represents 22 percent of all garments produced in California, will be the topic of discussion as Dahan and Goldschmied describe their real-world experiences of running successful businesses.
The event, to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harris Hall at the University Park Campus, is free and open to the public. —Erin Barajas
