Retail Real Estate Co. Launches in O.C., L.A.
Veteran real estate executive Terry Bortnick has formed Argent Retail Advisors, a boutique real estate brokerage catering to retailers and landlords throughout Southern California.
Bortnick is based in Dana Point, Calif. Managing Director Daniel Fitrel will be based in Los Angeles.
The company provides consulting services, specializing in lifestyle, open-air shopping centers, regional malls and urban-retail spaces.
“By providing hands-on solutions, Argent Retail Advisors can really get out to the market with good old-fashioned prospecting and canvassing, a somewhat lost art,” Bortnick said. “Today’s challenging retail environment requires hands-on leasing. Having been through the highs and lows really helps bring perspective to what we are currently facing. The last several years have made leasing a commodity rather than what is truly a blend of art and science requiring more creativity and passion. That’s what Argent Retail Advisors is all about.”
Bortnick has more than 20 years of experience, having served as president of Irvine, Calif.–based Reza Investment Group and as a senior leasing executive for Pan Pacific Retail Properties. The company consults in areas such as site selection and strategic planning, lease and proposal analysis, lease negotiation, and posttransaction advisement. —Robert McAllister
