Santa Monica Goes SoHo
Macerich’s Santa Monica Place mall will get a new Bloomingdale’s designed after the upscale department store’s SoHo concept store in Manhattan. Smaller than traditional Bloomie’s stores, the two-story, 105,000-square-foot store will open in 2010. Bloomingdale’s, a division of Macy’s Inc., will also open SoHo-style stores in Georgetown Park in the Washington, D.C., suburb in 2011. Two traditional Bloomingdale’s stores in Phoenix and at the Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose are expected to open in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
