NEW YORK—They might try to go incognito, but don’t let that fool you. Celebrities are abounding at New York Fashion Week, and tennis champ Maria Sharapova was recently spotted en route to the Herve Leger Spring 2009 fashion show in the Promenade at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Bryant Park. The label is world-famous for turning out dresses that make the female body appear ridiculously skinny. This season brought bursts of vibrant prints and colors to the traditionally tonal collection. Apparently, the festive hues struck a chord with Sharapova. Her enthusiastic applause left show goers wondering if a modified Herve Leger ensemble will be her secret weapon at Wimbledon.
