New York Fashion Week Spring '09: BCBG Max Azria
NEW YORK—Modern, sophisticated and urban—that was the look of BCBG Max Azria’s Spring/Summer ’09 collection. Designer Max Azria created a collection for the modern girl on the go who wants as much fashion as she does function. It was smart and sassy, with elegant, yet wearable, fabrications. Made with elegant silk, jersey and shimmery sateen fabrics, these pieces will easily be a favorite addition to any girl’s closet. The tonal palette of gray, white, taupe, light mauve and dusty rose was accented with bright colors that delivered a high-energy impact. Cropped vests and polyurethane jackets added a sporty edge layered over dresses and paired with chic skinny pants. Styles were classic and key for the season; dresses, shortalls and jumpsuits were updated with draping, diagonal ruffles and asymmetric hemlines. Standouts included a chic gray jumpsuit and an elegant gown belted smartly at the waist. —N. Jayne Seward
