Lectra's New U.S. President
Technology provider Lectra has promoted Roy Shurling to president of its North American division, succeeding David Rode, who left the company earlier this year and is now with Philadelphia-based design consultancy Electronic Ink.
Shurling was most recently Lectra’s world senior vice president of automotive and transportation and previously was world senior account director for the same division. In addition to apparel companies, Lectra sells CAD and cutting systems to the automotive, aviation and other industries that deal with industry fabrics.
Shurling was officially appointed to his new post on Aug. 1, but company officials announced the hiring on Oct. 29 without explanation.
As president of Lectra North America, Shurling will manage all of the company’s businesses in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean basin. He is based in Atlanta and reports to Chief Executive Officer Daniel Harari, who is based in Lectra’s world headquarters in Paris.
Lectra officials noted that Shurling has had a successful track record of producing revenue growth and advancing business development during his 20 years with the company. —Robert McAllister
