L.A. Fashion Week Spring '09: Sjobeck
On Oct. 11, the Malibu, Calif.–based men’s and women’s casual beach-lifestyle brand Sjobeck made its way west to stage its first-ever fashion show. Held at The Victorian in Santa Monica, Calif., Sjobeck’s Spring 2009 runway presentation was as laid-back as the brand itself. Styles included matching thermal shorts and tops, overdyed colored denim, slim track jackets, cropped sweats, and plenty of terry-cloth pieces for men and women. A collection of denim ran the gamut from tattered and faded to clean and dark. The women’s collection dipped into dressier categories, offering ruched walk shorts, pleated miniskirts and clingy T-shirts with lace insets.—Erin Barajas
