Skechers S.F. Manhattan Beach–based footwear brand Skechers USA Inc. opened a flagship store on Powell Street near San Francisco’s Union Square neighborhood. The 7,500-square-foot, three-story store carries 800 Skechers styles and can carry an inventory of 20,000 units. The historic 1933 building is located on the corner of Powell and O’Farrell streets. The store will feature curved fixtures, four-foot LED screens, plasma screens and thermo-clean panels, as well as a “super block wall” made from Styrofoam and plaster. The company restored the original green terra cotta pipes and copper pipes on the building’s exterior walls. “Our new Powell Street flagship store has everything we require in a retail location and more,” said Skechers President Michael Greenberg. “It is in one of the premier tourist and shopping locations in San Francisco, with tens of millions of visitors annually.”
