FIDM Student Gets Gerber Award
Tolland, Conn.–based Gerber Technology presented its “WebPDM Achievement Award” to Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising student Tala Banatao of Los Angeles for her work in developing a pair of boardshorts for Kirra, a brand sold at Pacific Sunwear. Gerber recognized Banatao for outstanding use of its WebPDM software.
Banatao used WebPDM, a product development management software application, in FIDM’s advanced study program in international manufacturing and product development. The program provides students with a professional education designed to equip them with the essential skills they will need to compete in real-world manufacturing and product development.
The presentation included design boards with fabric samples, clothing sketches, inspirational images and pictures of target customers, as well as the actual clothing displayed on mannequins or worn by models.
