American Apparel CFO Out, Interim CFO In
American Apparel announced the departure of Chief Financial Officer Ken Cieply and the arrival of William Gochnauer as his interim replacement, effective immediately. Gochnauer, who is expected to fill the chief financial officer spot for the next three to six months until a permanent replacement is named, was last the interim chief financial officer at Red Envelope Inc., a publicly traded catalog and online retailer. American Apparel has retained executive-search firm Berglass + Associates to help find a replacement and, according to a release by the company, has been interviewing potential candidates for several months.
“We’re very pleased that Bill Gochnauer is joining us to assist in our transition in being a public company,” Charney said in a statement. “Bill’s extensive experience with SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance will be an enormous help.” —Erin Barajas
