Waitex Strengthens IT With Acquisition
New York–based Waitex Group has acquired New York–based Mr. Software of the East Coast Inc. and will merge the company with its Waitex Information System Inc. division.
As a result of the deal, Waitex will develop its own ERP (enterprise resource planning) and Warehouse Management Systems. As a division of the Waitex Group, Mr. Software will also enable cross-platform business management by increasing communication among Waitex’s existing supply-chain solutions, which include EDI, UCC128, ASN, TMS, scan and pack capabilities, data processing, warehousing and distribution services, Internet mail-order fulfillment, GOH/Flatpack storage, label sewing and alterations, and pick/pack/ship services.
Mr. Software was founded in 1984 and its products are sold under the AIMS label, but it is not affiliated with Los Angeles–based AIMS Technology Solutions Inc. The Waitex Group is a worldwide conglomerate of separate companies consisting of third-party logistics, warehousing and distribution, apparel manufacturing and sourcing, real-estate development, and global investment.
“The Waitex Group, through our Mr. Software division, is better prepared to pioneer corresponding technology, which we can also pass down to our clients,” said Chief Executive Officer David Chu in a statement.—R.M.
