L.A. Fabric Sourcing Seminar Set
Shery Sapriel of The Fabric Stock Exchange will be presenting a free seminar on fabric sourcing at 10 a.m. on April 15 at the Fashion Business Inc. Resource Center in Los Angeles.
Sapriel said that finding new fabric resources and suppliers is among the toughest tasks for smaller- to mid-size companies.
“Most small manufacturers have trouble finding the fabrics they need. They do not know where to go to find companies that offer low minimums at competitive prices,” she said.
Sapriel will discuss the differences between mills, converters, jobbers and brokers. She will also explain how to find the latest fabric and track down color and fashion trends. Other highlights will address the pros and cons and processes involved in securing fabric around the world. Attendees will receive information on industry trade shows, trade associations, industry information providers, fabric glossaries and other information.
The Fabric Stock Exchange is a fabric-brokering service for small manufacturers, fashion designers, retail fabric stores, fabric converters, importers and fabric jobbers. The company specializes in selling first-quality, off-price, immediately available fabrics at below-wholesale prices.
