CFDA Names Names
California designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy, designers of Rodarte, and Scott Sternberg, designer of Band of Outsiders, are among the nominees for this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards, awarded by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Rodarte is up for the Swarovski Award for womenswear, and Band of Outsiders is up for the Swarovski Award for menswear. The awards will be given out on June 2 at the CFDA’s annual gala, where Carolina Herrera will receive the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will be given the Board of Directors’ Special Tribute, Style.com’s Candy Pratts Price will receive the Eugenia Sheppard Award and Dries Van Noten will receive the International Award.
