Kohl's Flood Relief
Following the devastating floods in Midwestern states along the Mississippi River, Menomonee Fall, Wis.–based department store Kohl’s Corp. donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross to assist in flood-relief efforts. The donation will be used for state disaster-relief funds, with $25,000 earmarked for Wisconsin and $15,000 in contributions slated for Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri. The retailer is also encouraging its employees to help with the cleanup efforts in their regions through the company’s A-Team program. The retailer will donate $500 to the Red Cross or other flood-relief nonprofit organizations every time five or more Kohl’s employees volunteer to help residents in the affected areas. Flood victims and residents of flooded areas can enlist the help of Kohl’s A-Team by stopping by a Kohl’s store and speaking to a store manager.
