Mo Money
Los Angeles–based Mo Industries Holding Inc., owners of the Splendid and Ella Moss brands, struck a deal with Greensboro, N.C.–based VF Corp. to sell a minority of its capital stock to the manufacturing giant. The deal paves the way to a possible sale of Mo Industries’ remaining capital stock to VF in early 2009, according to The Sage Group, the Los Angeles–based company that acted as Mo Industries’ financial adviser in the deal. Mo Industries is owned by its founder, Chief Executive Officer and President Moises Emquies, and Summit Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm that took an ownership stake in the company in 2006. Sage Group also advised Mo Industries in the deal with Summit Partners. VF owns several prominent brands, including Wrangler, Lee, Riders, The North Face, Vans, Reef, Nautica, Lucy, John Varvatos and 7 For All Mankind.
