Project Ethos Seeks Designers
Project Ethos—a multifaceted fashion, music and art event—is accepting submissions for fashion and accessories designers for its next show edition on Sept.26. The tri-annual event has featured musical performances by Colbie Caillat, whose song “Bubbly” peaked at number two on “The Billboard Hot 100” charts, and the band One Republic. Emerging designers such as Orisue streetwear and Nicolita Rose Luxury Swimwear have been featured in the runway show. More than 2,000 guests attended Project Ethos’ last installation in February at Hollywood’s Avalon nightclub and adjoining Spider Club.
Chief Executive Officer Jason Peskin has hired a new fashion director, Monica Ruiseco, to oversee Project Ethos’ biannual runway shows. Ruiseco previously worked at buying office Directives West as a market analyst for the moderate casual sportswear and juniors swimwear categories. As part of the plan to step up the fashion portion of the event, Ethos plans to schedule its March 2009 show around Los Angeles Fashion Week.
Apparel and accessories designers interested in submitting work for consideration may apply via e-mail to monica.ruiseco@projectethos.com by June 30. Designers who apply should have clothing- or accessories-production capabilities, and it is preferred to have sold to a retail store but not required.
