Juicy Couture's New President
Juicy Couture, a division of New York–based Liz Claiborne Inc., hired Edgar O. Huber as president of the Los Angeles–based lifestyle brand. Huber previously was managing director of major markets for L’Oreal SA, where he managed a portfolio of beauty brands, including Ralph Lauren Fragrances, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Diesel Fragrances, Lancocirc;me, Shu Uemura and Kiehl’s Since 1851. A 15-year L’Oreal veteran, Huber also served as president of luxury products for L’Oreal USA. The 12-year-old Juicy Couture brand is looking to expand. The company already produces women’s and girls’ ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, swimwear, watches, handbags, sunglasses, jewelry, ophthalmic eyewear, small leather goods, and fragrances. Its men’s offerings include denim, ready-to-wear, accessories, fragrances and sunglasses. In addition, the brand includes baby apparel and pet accessories, as well as a luxury line called Couture Couture. There are 36 Juicy Couture stores in the United States, with plans to expand to 60 by the end of the year. The company also has Juicy Couture stores in Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates, with plans to add up to 21 stores in Asia by the end of 2008.
