West Coast Brands Up for Dallas Awards
Voom by Joy Han, Hype, Lucky Brand and Ed Hardy led the list of West Coast brands named as finalists for the 33rd Annual Dallas Fashion Awards, which will be presented Oct. 25 at the Dallas Trade Mart.
Los Angeles–based lines Voom and Hype were named in the contemporary category along with Canadian label Kenzie. Los Angeles lines Lucky Brand and Ed Hardy will vie for the contemporary casual award along with Turkish brand Taka Wear, designed by former Los Angeles resident Tania Eskizani.
Los Angeles eveningwear line Mandalay is a finalist in the after-five category with New York designers Badgley Mischka and Marc Bouwer.
Santa Cruz, Calif.–based handbag maker Big Buddha is a finalist in the accessories category, along with City of Industry, Calif.–based Brighton Inc. Los Angeles–based Baby Nay is among the childrenswear finalists, and Devon Leigh and Crislu are finalists in the jewelry category.
Other finalists include 600 West, Debra DeRoo, Lynn Ritchie, Nic + Zoe, Zelda and Apriori.

The Oct. 25 gala will feature fashion shows, celebrities and presentations of the annual “Fashion Excellence” and “Rising Star” awards. —R.M.
