DHL Looks to UPS for Help
Deutsche Post, the parent company of DHL, is trimming costs and cutting at least 1,500 jobs in the United States. To save money, the German company is hiring UPS for its U.S. air-cargo services. DHL is paying UPS $1 billion over 10 years for air-cargo help. However, DHL packages will still be picked up and delivered in the United States by DHL trucks. Deutsche Post expects to save about $1 billion a year with this new arrangement.
