PGA Golf Show Added to Vegas Lineup
The PGA Fall Expo, which highlights the latest in apparel and equipment for the golf industry, will, for the first time, take place simultaneously with the MAGIC Marketplace and satellite shows in Las Vegas when it runs Aug. 25–27 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
More than 400 vendors, including about 120 apparel lines, will exhibit at the show, which usually takes place later in the season. The move was made to avoid conflicts with the Ryder Cup and capitalize on the enormous buyer traffic in Las Vegas during MAGIC week as well as help the travel budgets of buyers and exhibitors.
“In today’s economic climate, it is more important than ever for our industry to identify business growth opportunities,” said Ed Several, group vice president for PGA Shows Group, a division of Norwalk,Conn.–based Reed Expos. “The upscale venue, earlier timing, new marketing platforms, networking events and quality education seminars have all combined to offer one powerful setting for manufacturers, PGA professionals and golf retailers to grow their business and the industry.”
Lines scheduled to be represented at the show include Ashworth, Under Armour, Bobby Jones, Jamie Sadock, Puma, PING Apparel, Ben Hogan Apparel, Antigua, Bette & Court, Callaway Golf Apparel, Cutter & Buck, Greg Norman Collection, LIJA, Sport Haley, Sunderland and Tail. Several of those lines are already represented at MAGIC and the MRket show, so there will be some overlap, Several said.
Aside from apparel, the show will feature equipment from brands such as Nike Golf, Bridgestone, Tour Edge, MacGregor, Wilson Golf, Bobby Jones Golf and Momentus. Reed also produces the PGA Merchandising Show, which takes place each January in Orlando. It is also planning to host the fall show on similar dates next year, said a spokesperson.
